about

Fernanda Figueiredo
1978, São Paulo, Brazil. Lives in Berlin.

After completing my bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts in 2005, I worked actively in a collaborative duo in São Paulo, Brazil. Drawing and painting are the media that best reflect my artistic production. Even though I have produced intensively using several different supports, I always maintained them in dialog with these two techniques. In 2015, when I moved to Berlin, I started pursuing my solo career. Since then, I have grown a deep interest in Latin American post/colonial theories, tropical exoticism and the role of painting in these narratives.
